"The Fire", a Short Story

One day at school I smelled something burning.  I thought I might just be imagining it. Then I looked outside and saw a person I had never seen before.  He had a can of oil, and he emptied the can on the gym floor.  He lit a match and threw it on the oil. The oil exploded in a ball of fire.  At that moment I yelled, “fire”!  I saw the guy run to a car, and I got the license plate.  Then the main hallway caught fire.  I got an idea.  I ran to my locker and took out a pickaxe, a grappling hook, zip line harnesses and hooks.  I swung the pickaxe and shattered the window.  I called to my friend, Foster, to get everyone hooked up to a harness.  Then, I shot the grappling hook, and it latched onto a post.  I zipped down the line to the courtyard, and everybody else followed.  There were no deaths and five minor injuries. This is not a true story.
