I read a book called “Blood On The River”. It is an excellent book by Elisa Carbone. It is about Jamestown and the struggles that explorers of the Virginia Company had to endure in 1607. The book is told from the view of a boy named Samuel Collins. Samuel Collins is twelve years old, and already a thief. His family died, and he is homeless, so he has to fish out food from the garbage. He does have a friend named Richard. An arrow from an Indian killed Richard’s friend, James. Samuel thinks James’ death was his fault because Samuel did not hold James back from running to the ships during an Indian ambush. I think everybody should read this book because it talks about history in a very interesting way.
