I read a book called “Blood On The River”. It is an excellent book by Elisa Carbone. It is about Jamestown and the struggles that explorers of the Virginia Company had to endure in 1607. The book is told from the view of a boy named Samuel Collins. Samuel Collins is twelve years old, and already a thief. His family died, and he is homeless, so he has to fish out food from the garbage. He does have a friend named Richard. An arrow from an Indian killed Richard’s friend, James. Samuel thinks James’ death was his fault because Samuel did not hold James back from running to the ships during an Indian ambush. I think everybody should read this book because it talks about history in a very interesting way.

"Flying Sparks", a Story
I am one of the refugees from Spark, which is an underground city. The world above is in ruins. The landscape is littered with wreckage left by the old people, like blown-up cars. It was hard get out of Spark. There was not much technology, so I had to invent TNT in order to blow up a metal door to get out to the surface of the Earth. Then we had to take every thing that we had in Spark to a new place. Finally we found an old town (San Francisco). That is where I settled with the rest of the Spark people. This short story is based on the book “The City of Ember”.

"The Battle"
“The Battle”
I was the Commander of a naval battle group in the Pacific Ocean. I was on our flagship, an aircraft career. The sea was clear, with no sign of enemies. Wait, what’s that?! A metal tube is sticking out of the water. It looks like a sub going toward the destroyers. Oh no, that’s an enemy sub! I raced to the radio room and roared “SOS”! The destroyer radioed over to ask what happened. I said, “watch out, enemy sub coming our way”. After I said that, I heard an explosion, and the signal went dead. I called over the speakers, “man your battle stations, we are under attack”. Then I felt the ship give a massive shudder. Someone screamed when they fell over board. Then planes started taking off to escape the sinking aircraft carrier. I asked our men to get in the patrol boat and all ships to evacuate the area. Then I heard that we had hit the sub, and I gave orders for all planes and ships to search for more subs or boats. No luck, so I got in the patrol boat and was off back to the base.

"The Fire", a Short Story
One day at school I smelled something burning. I thought I might just be imagining it. Then I looked outside and saw a person I had never seen before. He had a can of oil, and he emptied the can on the gym floor. He lit a match and threw it on the oil. The oil exploded in a ball of fire. At that moment I yelled, “fire”! I saw the guy run to a car, and I got the license plate. Then the main hallway caught fire. I got an idea. I ran to my locker and took out a pickaxe, a grappling hook, zip line harnesses and hooks. I swung the pickaxe and shattered the window. I called to my friend, Foster, to get everyone hooked up to a harness. Then, I shot the grappling hook, and it latched onto a post. I zipped down the line to the courtyard, and everybody else followed. There were no deaths and five minor injuries. This is not a true story.

Bike Ride
The little airport near my house has a bike trail near it. Today I went on a bike ride there with my dad. My dad wanted to see a plane at the airport. He also wanted to say hi to his instructor for flying. Well the plane he wanted to see was not that cool, but it was nice. It was a Ford Tri Motor. It was blue and gray. It had brown leather seats and was slanted so that walking in it you would be walk up at an angle. After going on the plane I went on the bike ride with my dad. It was a nice ride.

OMG I Got Minecraft
Last Sunday I got a computer game called Minecraft. But let me tell how I got it and why it is so cool. It cost $21 and Andrew told me that it will go up to $28 in July. So I bought it before the price went up and next thing you know I am addicted to the game. I have made a lot of houses, and I plan on making many more. I have made a mine and found diamonds and gold. I have also made a portal to the Nethers which is also another word for Hell. I love Minecraft and I am happy I bought it.

A Summer Day
On June 21, I went to space camp. That day we learned about the stars. I really liked learning about the stars. We were in the planetarium for that. Also we learned how to use the sun and the stars to tell time. We used sundials. We made a space shuttle out of celery, bread and carrots. Then I went to Joshua’s house. His house reminds me of the tent in Harry Potter because it looks bigger from the inside than the outside. We had pizza for dinner. Joshua and I played with his 3 cats. His black cat, Baby, is the most active. Summer days are busy.

A Busy Day
Today has been an interesting day. I went to a space camp with Carson. When we were there we studied the moon and its cycles. We also made a moon cycle chart. We made it out of icing and Oreos. It was yummy. After camp Carson and I went to Potbelly. Then we went to my house. We played Mine Craft a bit and Wii. We also goofed around. Also we had a Nerf battle with Andrew, Josh (my cousin), Carson and me. The Nerf battle was really close, but my team of Josh and me lost. It was a great day for me.

Carson
I have a friend who is completely random. He says the most random stuff when we are talking about something else. But it’s usually really funny stuff. I remember once he said bananas are an excellent source of potassium! Oh yea, you do not know his name. He is Carson. He has blonde hair and light skin. He also is really tall. Another thing is that he calls himself an intellectual. Well he is my best friend, and always remember that bananas are an excellent source of potassium.

Skyline
Skyline is my favorite food. I like it because I had it when I was a little kid. I like how it never takes long for the skyline to be made. The service is excellent. But the food is delicious. And it is cheap but good. My favorite food there is the three way. Another thing I like there is the cheese coney. When I was younger I wanted to work at skyline for my career, but not anymore. I have a friend named drew whose dad owns some skylines. Skylines are only found in the Ohio River valley. If you are ever there you should go to Skyline.
Suit Life On Deck
My favorite TV show is The Suite Life on Deck. I like it because its story line is easy to follow. The characters are really funny like the character named Woody. I like how it is a series from The Suite Life of Zack and Cody. My favorite character is Cody. He is weak physically, but he is book smart. Cody and Zack remind me of Andrew and me. Zack is Cody's twin brother. My favorite episode is Lost at Sea. In this episode the main characters get lost on a deserted island. I think everybody should watch The Suite Life on Deck.

Boating
I was on boat a big sailing boat. I was on the ocean going out to sea with my family. I was just looking around when I spotted a leak. I tried to seal it off but could not. So I ran to my dad and told him. But I knew that we would not make it back to shore in this boat unless we could stop the leak. We did have a small row boat on the ship. When my dad went down to the lower decks see the leak the water was up to his knees. I showed him the leak and he told me to get Andrew and Mom to help get the row boat in the water. We worked together as a team to get it in the water, then my dad got on the row boat with us. With tears in our eyes, we all watched our boat sink. The End (This story was not true)
If I Could be Invisible and Walk Through Walls
If I could be invisible and could walk through walls, I would love it. I would go to places and see if the building has any hidden passages. I would also go places I am not allowed to go. I would also be able to freak people out by being invisible and pick stuff up. It would be easy to play hide and seek. I would also help people by getting things that are in small places out. But there would be a down side like I could fall through the floor. I wish I had those super powers. What would you do if you had super powers?

California Vacation: Part 10 The Way Back
On the last day of vacation we started our way back to San Francisco. We went to this awesome cliff that was overlooking the ocean and had a hole through it. It was fun to climb up the cliff. It had a nice view from the top of the cliff but not the best view. After I got down I saw something on the beach below us that scarred me for life. I SAW A NAKED MAN!!!!!! The guy was only wearing his birthday suit and a hat. Then we had dinner at an Italian restaurant. Our plane was leaving at 11:30 pm so Andrew and I watched Iron Man 2. After about 4 hours, we were back to the city where I was born and live. The End

If I had a Trillion Dollars What I Would do with it
If I had a Trillion dollars there are several things I would do with it. One of the things I would do is buy a mall. I would use some stuff from the mall to give to a homeless shelter. Another thing I would use the money for is to buy a mansion. I would buy the mansion because I could make awesome secret passages. Also I would buy an electric store. So I could get electronics for little cost and give them to people. I would also buy a cruise ship. So I could go around the world and others could go to. I would donate some money to the poor. So our economy will start to go up. So what would you get if you had a Trillion dollars?

California Vacation: Part 9 - Bishop's Peak
On the second to last day my family went hiking at Bishop’s Peak near the town of San Luis Obispo. It was a beautiful mountain because of the fog around it. It looked like a gateway to heaven. We had to climb over some fences and then over a stream. There was a horse that would not move from in front of us, but when it did we got to a really steep hill. I got up easily, but not my dad. It took awhile for him to get up. After that, we started on a very jungle-like path and found a stream blocking our way. When we got to the top of the mountain we found an awesome view. Then we went back down to our car.

California Vacation: Part 8 Trip to San Luis Obispo and the room
Sorry about not getting a post up yesterday. I was busy. The day after my family went sailing we left Carmel to go to San Luis Obispo. It was not a very interesting ride. After a while on the road we got to the hotel in San Luis Obispo. The hotel we stayed at was called Dolphin Bay Resort. The hotel was cool, but the rooms were awesome. It was like a condo. The beach was not so good because it did not have any good climbing rocks. My family watched a movie every night at the hotel. We also went swimming a lot in the pool. Our room was on the 3 floor in the 3 building. I had to sleep on the couch, but I did not mind. It was the first time I slept in a place with no air conditioning. They don’t need air conditioning, because it does not get very hot there.

California Vacation: Part 7 A Day On The Bay
When we were at the Highlands Inn, we went on a sailing trip. So we got in our car and drove to the pier. We then found the boat we were looking for. The Bella on the Bay was cool. I liked going in the hull when we where going side ways because I could lean backwards a lot and not fall. The captains name was Christian. I got to steer the boat and we found his trap full of delicious crabs and ate them. It was a good day for me and my family.

Califonia Vacation: Part 6 Highlands Inn
The hotel in Carmel is called Highlands Inn. The Highlands Inn has mini apartments. Our first one had two floors one was for the parents, the other for the kids. That's how it was going to be. Until my mom and dad complained about how people were smoking next door. So we got moved to a different room and it was awesome. There was a huge bathroom and two doors and a sleeper sofa and an air mattress. I HATE WATCHING TV IN CALIFORNIA. YOU HAVE TO WATCH IT 3 HOUR BEFORE IT IS ON IN THE EAST COAST. There was a pool and Andrew and I went in the pool once. I liked exploring the resort because it was really big.

California Vacation Part 5: Road Trip to Carmel
On day five of our vacation we left San Francisco and went down the coast to Carmel. We rented a car for the trip, and we could not see out the back because of how much luggage we had. The views down the coasts were beautiful. After a while I got bored looking at the view, but my dad never got bored because he took so many pictures. Then we got to some awesome rocks at Pebble Beach, where Andrew and I climbed all over them. I raced Andrew but he could get up to the top of the rocks first. Then we arrived at the hotel in Carmel.

Flying
I am taking a little break from the vacation series of posts. Last Saturday I woke up early so I could go flying with my dad. I usually fly in the simulated world, with Flight Simulator, but now I get to fly in the real world. I helped my dad get the plane ready for flight by getting him stuff he needed. Right after takeoff, we flew over my house, which across the river from the airport. Then we flew over an amusement park and over downtown. Then my dad let me fly a little, and it was awesome! After landing I wanted to do it again.

California Vacation Part 4 The Room
The room at the Ritz was nice. It had three beds for the four of us It did not have a very good view, but you could just barely see Alcatraz. I had roomservice with my brother. We had some fun playing with Andrew's laser. I never missed a chance to go to the club room for dessert. Every night at 8 p.m. there were all kinds of desserts in the club room. The hotel had a pool but we never used it. The hotel was just a couple blocks away from Chinatown. Chinatown was filled with markets carrying odd foods.

California Vacation Part 3: Cable Cars
One of the best parts of going to San Francisco was riding the cable cars. We bought our passes at the bottom of California Street, where the cable cars stop and turn around on a turntable. But once we had our passes, we could not find a cable car that had room for all four of us. It felt like FOR-EVER before we finally gave up. My brother and dad were able to find a cable car after dinner, later that night. The next day I got to go on one with my whole family. It was totally awesome! We rode it to Fisherman's Wharf, which was quite far away, at the end of the line. It was really fun going down hills in a cable car, but I thought that going up hills was super boring, because it was sloooowww.

Calfornia Part 2: the Golden Gate Bridge
On the California trip I also went to ride bikes on the Golden Gate Bridge. We started at Fisherman's Wharf. We rode our bikes on the coast all the way to the bridge. I was the navigator and directed the group. Also we went under the bridge. We watched some surfers that were really close to the bridge. Then we rode up to the bridge. It was amazing, the view of Alcatraz was stunningly beautiful. The bridge was about a mile long. I had to stop for water two times on the trip. We went back on a ferry from Sausalito to San Fransico where we droped off the bikes

California Vacation Part 1: Alcatraz Island
I am lucky enough to have gone on many awesome trips - let me tell you about the most recent one. It was a trip to the northern and central parts of California. We went to San Fransico for the start of the trip, and then we went to Monterey and then San Luis Obispo. We were in San Francisco for five days and four nights. We stayed at the Ritz Hotel on Nob Hill. The club room (a special dining and living room for the top floors) was fantastic, the food was superb and the view was amazing. But the view from the room was nothing compared with Alcatraz. We went to Alcatraz on a Sunday night...a dark, cold, misty, rainy night...on a ferry. We heard all the crazy stories about break-outs and what it was like to be a guard. It would have been terrible to be a guard - you might get shot and never see your family again. I even saw where Al Capone (a famous gangster) was kept in the 1930's.

What I Did Today
My first class was writing at school today. In the class we fixed our materials. In science class we dumped out all the stuff from science. Then it was time to play the games. I got my science teacher to let me play the game I made first. It was me vs Alex vs Malikia. I went first then Malikia and Alex last. I won the game. Then in math we played minute to win it. In reading we started writing a story and then other people add on. My friend Carson added something about how crayons are all diffrent colors but get along in the same box. I thought that it was random just like how Carson is. I had a good day bye.
