I liked the book Fahrenheit 451 by Ray Bradbury. The book is really well written, and the plot is great. The idea that the media will take over is a thing that could happen. Everyone should always read a book all the time, so that this kind of thing will never happen. People should always value books. I liked how in the book the media was everything. One of the best parts was when Montag destroy the mechanical dog with the flame thrower. Another good part was when Montag finds the refugees. I did not like when his town was nuked, because alot of people would have died. Also I didn't like that Clarisse died. I was confused at why the author would have Clarisse die. I think that Clarisse's death was needed to motivate Montag into action. These are the reasons I liked and didn't like the book.

Fahrenheit 451 Paragraph 2
In a world where books are considered dangerous and illegal, where fireman start fires instead of putting them out, there is a man named Guy Montag. Montag meets Clarisse, an eccentric 17-year-old girl. She gets him to question every thing he knows. Then she is run over by a car. Montag is about to burn an old woman's house when he accidentally reads a line of a book. He then hides the book in his pocket. After that he becomes physical ill from the stress of doing something illegally. Captain Beatty, his boss, comes and visits Montag. He tells him that all fireman steal a book once in their career, and if they get rid of the book before twenty four hours they will not get charged. Montag reads a peom to his wife, and she turns him in. He goes to the fire station and Beatty makes him burn his own house. Then he kills Beatty so he can escape. After being chased he gets to the river, swims across and finds a refugee camp. Then the war starts and ends in a minute and his town is nuked.

In Fahrenheit 451 there are many characters. The main character is Guy Montag. He is also the main protagonist in the book. He is a fireman, however, these firemen set fire to houses with books in them. In this story, books are illegal to read or keep. Another character is Clarisse she is a 17-year-old girl. In the novel, she changes Montag's mind about books by asking him questions. Later in the book, she gets run over by a car. The main antagonist is Captain Beatty. He used to read books but started to hate how they contradict each other. Also he is Montag's boss. He later dies when Montag kills him with a flame-thrower in order to escape capture. These are three very interesting characters.

Day 5: Free-Write on Lord of the Flies
One of the things I have been thinking about is what would have happened after the end of the book. I think Jack's group would find Ralph and the Naval officer. At first I think Jack would try to kill Ralph. The officer would have stopped Jack and would have taken them to the boat. Then the kids would have been put in solitary confinement. Ralph's dad is the captain of the naval ship and would have let Ralph out of confinement. When the ship gets to Britain they would let the kid go to their families. That is how I think it would end.
I really liked Lord of the Flies for many reasons. One reason is that the book was really well thought out. Also the characters in the book are easy to relate to. I think a lot like Piggy does and I think I would do the same thing in the same situation. I enjoyed how how Ralph is the good guy or protagonist, and Jack is the antagonist. This book shows how without order or rules we would become savages. The best part was when they found the conch. Also I like when Ralph was saved by the naval officers. I like how Simon figures out that the beast is inside everyone. My least favorite parts were when Piggy died and when Simon died. I did not like when Jack stole Piggies glasses either, because I wouldn't like that at all. The whole book made sense to me except I was confused about why Simon had hallucinations.

In Lord of the Flies there are many main characters. One of the main characters is Ralph. He is the main protaginist. Also he was eleceted cheif by the kids. He is one of the only characters that tries to maintain rule and order. Another main character is Piggy, Ralph's right hand man. He got the nickname because the kids at his old school called him it. He is an intelectual boy, who has bad eye sight. Also he is fat and gives Ralph advice. Another main charater is Jack Merridew, society's antagonist. He is the head of a choir that becomes hunters on the island. Jack splits up the group, and he is the cheif of the group with no rules. Ralph is the cheif of the group with rules and order. The conch is not a person but refers to how in the beinginng it was pretty but near the end it fades. When the conch was broken it means all rules had been thrown away. Those are the characters in the book
The book starts when a British plane crashes onto an island in a remote region of the Pacific Ocean. The only survivors are male children below the age of 13. Two boys, the fair-haired Ralph and an overweight boy nicknamed "Piggy," find a conch. Ralph uses it as a horn to bring all the survivors to one area. Ralph emerges as one of the survivors' leaders during the meeting. Jack organizes his choir group into a hunting party responsible for discovering a food source. Ralph, Jack and a boy named Simon soon become the leaders. Simon, unable to bear the stress of his position, goes off to think. Alone, he finds a severed pig head. Simon envisions the pig head, now swarming with scavenging flies, and believes that it is talking to him. Simon hears the pig identifying itself as the real "Beast" and disclosing the truth about itself—that the boys themselves "created" the beast, and that the real beast was inside them all. Simon is delusional. But Simon accidentally stumbles into a ritual dance and, mistaken for the beast, is killed by the tribe led by Jack.
Jack then orders his tribe to begin a manhunt for Ralph. Fleeing through the forest, Ralph watches as they set fire to the forest. The fire draws the attention of a passing naval vessel. A landing party from the vessel encounters Ralph. And this is the end.
