Stars’ Lives
A star starts out as a cloud of gas called a nebula. Then the nebula collapses under its own weight turning into a protostar or, what some people call, a baby star. The protostar then turns into a main sequence star. Our sun is a main sequence star. A star is a main sequence star for most of its life. Then after it runs out of fuel it will shed its outer layer and grow to a red giant. After it runs out of its reserve carbon fuel it will explode, and turn into one of the four things: it can turn into a black hole, a white dwarf star, another nebula or a neutron star.
