Today in writing class we looked at a picture and wrote what it made us think about. The picture showed a boy with his head stuck in a chair. There were four teachers next to him, one had a pole or screw drive (I do not know which). The other three were holding the chair and I think they were yanking on it. The kid looked calm. The kid was probably eight years old. He has a forehead that looked kind of like an ape’s. It made me think that he had been dared to put his head in the chair, and it looked like an epic FAIL. It was a really funny picture.
A daily blog about what I am thinking, what I am doing, stuff that happens, stories I make up... and anything else worth mentioning.

When We Left Earth Video
I have an interesting video on NASA spaceships. It talks about the Space Shuttle Challenger disaster that occurred 73 seconds after lift-off on its mission of January 28, 1986, and the subsequent halt of the Space Shuttle program. The video shows the launch of the Hubble Space Telescope in 1990 on mission STS-31 and the discovery of its defective mirror. Also in the video, it shows the first refurbishment mission of the Hubble Space Telescope, the launch, assembly, and construction of the International Space Station. The video also recalls the Columbia disaster that occurred during re-entry, 16 minutes from landing, at the Kennedy Space Center on February 1, 2003. Space crafts are my favorite thing to learn and I am taking this video to my science class tomorrow to inform the class!

iPhones Through The Ages
My brother, my dad, and I have had eight iPhones, all together. Before he got an iPhone, my brother’s first phone (a regular one from Cincinnati Bell), lasted a long time. Then my dad dropped his iPhone 3 in the toilet, and he got an iPhone 4 to replace it. Andrew got the ‘potty phone’ (my dad’s phone that he dropped in the toilet). Then I got an iPhone, but I left it in the washer by accident, and it short-circuited. I got a new phone to replace it. Just recently the potty phone finally stopped working, so Andrew bought an iPhone 4 with his own money. Here is a picture of the potty phone taken apart.

Bar mistzvah 2
Last night I went to Benny and Hannah’s bar and bat mitzvah. Yesterday morning there was the ceremony, and I have one word to describe it … BORING! That evening was the party. It started at 7:30 pm. My family dropped me off at the place, which was an old movie theatre. So they had an old movie theatre theme with a red carpet, VIP pass for all the kids, and popcorn for the snacks. The place had tons of tables and there was a table full of candy. There was some time for talking before we ate. Dinner was noodles and sauce or steak if you wanted it. Then we danced the night away. There was a lot of jumping around the place. Finally I went home at 10:20.

Gym class
Today I had gym class; we played a game called triangle tag. In triangle tag there is a group of three that hold hands and make a triangle with the three people. There is one tagger for each triangle. The tagger’s goal is to tag one of the people in the triangle (who ever your teacher picks for you to try and tag). The other people who have not been picked try to stop the tagger from tagging that person. My first group included Keagan, Andrew and Mandy. When it was my turn to be the tagger, I tried to tag Mandy. My strategies were to get them all dizzy and then change directions fast so I could tag Mandy. It worked. I liked the game a lot.

Space
I know a lot about science. One of my strongest science subjects is space and space vehicles. I like to tell people about space because I like to pass on my knowledge. I know all about space ships: for instance, the International Space Station, the Saturn V rocket and the Apollo capsules, the Space Shuttle and the Mars rovers (Spirit and Discovery). Did you know that the Apollo 11 was going down towards the moon too fast and the air pressure was too high? This made the capsule scoot away too fast from the orbiter. I know more stuff about the sun, the moon, how many dwarf planets there are in our galaxy, what temperature of a star makes the star a certain color. That is just a bit of what I know.

People at School
This year’s classes at school are great, but the kids are better. My friends are Malakai, an awesome artist, and Drew, a quiet kid who is not in my classes. There is Keagan and Joshua, who both have the same class as I. Keagan is annoying sometimes but fun to hang around with. Joshua is pretty funny and he thinks he is cool. The girls in my class are Marissa, the most annoying person I know; Mandy, a quiet girl who is quite pretty. Another one is Maeve who also is quiet and pretty. That is just half of the girls in my homeroom. There is also a new kid, Jay ,who is nice and went to my old school last year.

First Day of School
Yesterday was the first day of school. I was nervous about going back to school, because I had not been at school for so long. I am in all of the same classes as Keagan and Joshua. There are six girls in my homeroom and social studies. Last year there were no girls in my homeroom. I have social studies first then I have reading, unified arts, writing then lunch, recess, science and finally math. My favorite subjects are social studies and science. I really like the writing teacher; he seems to know what he’s doing more than other teachers I’ve had. I like the people in my classes and my teachers, so I think this will be a great year.

Summer Over
Tomorrow I am going back to school. It is very sad that the summer went so fast. This will be a brief review of my summer. The first weeks of summer were not eventful. I went to the pool, had a few friends over, and I went to day camp. It was quite dull until July, when we went on a trip to Telluride. Then a week after that, I went to camp. After camp things started to become a routine of get up, eating, reading, blogging, eating, Minecrafting, eating, Minecrafting again and going to bed. And that is pretty much my summer. But I love Minecrafting and I will miss that a lot.

Being an Op
Today I became an “op”, or operator, for a Minecraft server. That means I am one of the heads of an online gaming server. I just finished building my virtual house in a brand new world with only a couple other structures in it. Ops create new servers, and they make the first players to join the new server ops too. I am all-powerful; like, I can teleport and “item spawn” (create resources spontaneously). I can also ban people and pardon them. In addition, I can “op” and “de-op” players. Another thing I can do is the “/kill” (slash kill) command which kills them. I like being an Op, it’s fun.
